Inspiration & process
“Truly Madly” is a playful, surreal song about falling so deeply into a feeling that reality starts to lose its shape.
The world suddenly seems different — the moon feels like it is winking, the stars seem to dance, and even the rain sounds like it is laughing. Nothing quite makes sense anymore, but somehow, that makes everything more exciting.
The song embraces the beautiful madness of being completely caught up in your own emotions. Truth becomes uncertain, logic disappears, and the usual rules no longer seem important.
Instead of fighting the chaos, the narrator simply goes with it — chasing shadows, losing the map and somehow being perfectly happy being completely out of line.
At its heart, “Truly Madly” is about surrendering to a feeling so powerful and strange that you stop trying to explain it.
Sometimes you don’t need to know where you’re going — you just need to enjoy being wonderfully, truly madly lost.
Lyrics
Verse
I saw the moon wink
Just for me
A sly little trick
Cosmic spree
Stars did a dance
No guarantee
Prechorus
Truth is a liar
But I still care
Madness on fire
It’s everywhere
Chorus
Truly madly
I’m undone
Chasing shadows
Chasing none
Truly madly
Out of line
Lost the map
But I’m still fine
Verse 2
I heard the rain laugh
What a sound
Spinning my head
Round and round
Echoes of chaos
Underground
Prechorus
Truth is a dare
I’m in the game
Madness don’t care
It’s all the same
Chorus
Truly madly
I’m undone
Chasing shadows
Chasing none
Truly madly
Out of line
Lost the map
But I’m still fine
